My Woodland Chickens and Our History

I started off with three chickens on March 11, 2009. When I first started I was working with my uncle. In May 2010 I took over his two remaining chickens and I started my business, Olivia's Woodland Chickens. Since then, chickens have come and gone, each of them were good layers and played their own role in the chicken pecking order. I have named everyone who has been a part of my flock. Take a look around and meet our flock.

Our original logo was designed in 2009. We kept this as our logo for over five years. I have since redrawn the logo and have updated the egg cartons to include the new logo.

2011 Chickens

Vitas
Easter Egger
April 2011
Vitas was my first rooster, he never crowed too early.  Unfortunately he was killed along with five others by a group of foxes.  He defended the flock, and put up a big struggle.

Jo-Dee

She was also taken down by the foxes.

Apple

April 2011
Apple was yet another one taken by the foxes. She was really sweet and adorable.

Pink was also killed by the foxes, but they did not even treat her like food, once they had killed her!

Cosette
Easter Egger
Green Eggs
April 2011
She was the last of the chickens to die due to the foxes.

After that hunting spree I decided to build a new fence.  The fence has a roof as well as fence along the ground so that the foxes and other animals can not dig under!  I would like to say thanks to my customers that made it possible for me to buy the fence, the chickens are thankful, too.

Shania
Easter Egger
Green Eggs
April 2011
Shania is was a very funny chicken.  She was pretty much the most "chicken" like bird in the flock, not the smartest.

Selena
Easter Egger
Light Green Eggs
April 2011
She was much like Reddy, they both liked people, but Selena didn't enjoy being picked up as much.

Cara
Easter Egger
Blue-Green Eggs
April 2011
Cara was shy but sweet. And she had two different colored eyes, gray and orange.
