My Woodland Chickens and Our History

I started off with three chickens on March 11, 2009. When I first started I was working with my uncle. In May 2010 I took over his two remaining chickens and I started my business, Olivia's Woodland Chickens. Since then, chickens have come and gone, each of them were good layers and played their own role in the chicken pecking order. I have named everyone who has been a part of my flock. Take a look around and meet our flock.

Our original logo was designed in 2009. We kept this as our logo for over five years. I have since redrawn the logo and have updated the egg cartons to include the new logo.

2015 Chickens

I am crossbreeding three breeds to create a "breed" of my own.  I'm breeding silkies' unhooked, fluffy feather trait into my crossbreed.  Because silkies lay peewee (very small) eggs and don't lay often, I've bred leghorns to increase the egg size and production of eggs.  The last trait I am breeding into my crossbreed is the easter egger's green colored eggs.  I've been working on this crossbreed for a couple of years and this is the first year I hatched chicks with all three breeds.
